The Founding Insight

For decades, job seekers were taught the same playbook: tailor your résumé, write a thoughtful cover letter, apply selectively to roles where you're a strong fit, and follow up professionally. It was solid advice — for a world where humans were reading every application.

That world no longer exists.

Today, Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) screen the majority of résumés before a human ever sees them. Employers have deployed AI to filter, score, and rank candidates automatically. Some companies receive thousands of applications per posting and rely entirely on automated systems to produce a shortlist. The job seeker following 2015 advice is playing by rules that were rewritten years ago.

We saw this playing out in real time — brilliant graduates who couldn't get callbacks. The system wasn't broken for employers. Employers had AI working overtime for them — filtering, ranking, screening. The only people left without AI in their corner were the candidates themselves.
